Privacy Policy

Overview
Salah Journey is built so you can learn and practice Salah with confidence, while keeping your data private. Guest use is fully supported without an account, and every optional feature that involves personal data is off by default until you turn it on.
Information We Collect
Account & Authentication (Optional)
You may optionally create an account with an email address and password via Firebase Authentication so your progress can sync across devices. The app works fully offline as a guest with no account.
Progress Data
Lesson progress, quiz scores, XP, streaks, and achievements are stored locally on your device. If you're signed in, this progress also syncs to a cloud database (Firebase Firestore) tied to your account, so it can be restored on a new device.
Location Data (Premium, Optional)
Only for Premium subscribers who choose to enable "prayer times" — the app requests your device location to calculate accurate prayer times for that day. Location is used on-device for this calculation and is not shared with third parties beyond what's needed for it.
Advertising Identifier
Free-tier users are shown ads via Google AdMob, which may collect an advertising identifier and use it for ad personalization, subject to your device-level ad tracking settings.
Subscription & Purchase Status
Premium subscriptions are processed through Google Play billing, managed via RevenueCat. We do not see or store your payment card details — RevenueCat and Google Play handle payment processing and provide us only your subscription/entitlement status.
Usage Analytics
Basic usage analytics are collected via Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app. No personally identifiable content from lessons is sent — just usage events.
How We Use Your Information
- Deliver Salah and Wudu lessons, quizzes, and the Copilot guided-prayer mode
- Save and sync your lesson progress, XP, streaks, and achievements when you're signed in
- Calculate accurate daily prayer times on-device for Premium users who enable that feature
- Schedule optional local prayer-time reminder notifications for Premium users
- Show ads to free-tier users and personalize them based on your device's ad settings
- Process and verify Premium subscription purchases
- Understand feature usage and improve the app through basic analytics
Data Sharing
We do not sell user data to third parties. Limited data is shared with the service providers that power specific features: Firebase (Google) for authentication, progress sync, and analytics; Google AdMob for ads shown to free-tier users; and RevenueCat for subscription/purchase status. None of these providers receive more than what's needed to run their part of the app.
App Permissions
- Location — requested only if a Premium subscriber enables prayer times; used on-device to calculate that day's prayer times
- Notifications — used only if a Premium subscriber enables prayer-time reminders, scheduled locally on your device
- Internet — required for optional account sync, ads (free tier), subscription verification, and analytics
Third-Party Services

- •Firebase Analytics (Google) — basic, non-identifying usage analytics

Security
Progress data is stored locally on your device by default and only synced to Firebase's secured cloud infrastructure when you're signed in. We never see or store your payment card details — purchases are handled entirely by RevenueCat and the app stores. Data in transit to our cloud services is encrypted.
Your Rights
- •You can use Salah Journey fully offline as a guest without creating an account.
- •You can enable or disable location-based prayer times and reminder notifications at any time (Premium).
- •You can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from within the app's Settings.

Children's Privacy
Salah Journey includes a Kids mode intended for use by children under adult or parental supervision. Kids mode does not require a separate account or collect any personal data beyond what's described above, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 outside of a parent-managed account.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated effective date on this page.
